Oman Sees Revenue Increase and Budget Surplus in January 2024
In a positive economic development, the Sultanate of Oman witnessed a notable increase in state revenues and a budget surplus in January 2024. The latest financial data revealed a 3% rise in state revenues, totaling 1.014 billion Omani Rials during the month. This growth signals a promising start to the year for Oman’s economy.
Simultaneously, public expenditure also saw an upward trend, reaching 929 million Omani Rials by the end of January 2024. This marked an increase of 92 million Omani Rials compared to the same period in 2023, representing an 11% surge in spending. Despite the higher expenditure, the Sultanate managed to maintain financial stability and end the month with a budget surplus of approximately 85 million Omani Rials.
The positive financial results reflect a robust economic performance for Oman at the beginning of 2024. The revenue boost and budget surplus demonstrate the government’s prudent financial management and efforts to ensure fiscal sustainability.
