The Ministry of Health Celebrates the Opening of Al Mazyouna Hospital in Dhofar Governorate
The Ministry of Health celebrated today the opening of Al Mazyouna Hospital in Dhofar Governorate, built at a cost of 15.4 million Omani riyals as part of its efforts to provide comprehensive specialized health services in various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.
This project aims to ensure the delivery of health services to both citizens and residents and enhance decentralization in the governorates in accordance with the national strategy outlined in Oman Vision 2040. The construction cost of Al Mazyouna Hospital amounted to 15,359,970 Omani riyals, covering a building area of 13,649 square meters.
Facilities and Services Offered
The main building of the hospital includes a variety of clinics, such as:
- General medicine
- Internal medicine
- Dentistry
- Pediatrics
- Surgery
- Ear, nose, and throat (ENT)
- Ophthalmology
- Obstetrics and gynecology
- Expanded immunization program clinic
Al Mazyouna Hospital has a capacity of about 50 beds. Its inpatient departments include wards for men, women, and children, along with critical care units for both genders, special care for premature babies, and an accident and emergency unit. Other units include a kidney dialysis center, a delivery room, and an operating unit.

- Radiology department (offering CT scans and standard radiology services)

Serving the Local Community
More than 8,000 citizens and residents in the Wilayat and its surrounding districts and villages will benefit from the hospital’s services. In addition to providing primary health care, Al Mazyouna Hospital offers secondary (specialized) health services, making it easier for people from Harweeb, Tosnat, and Mitan to access medical care. This will help reduce the burden of traveling long distances to Sultan Qaboos Hospital in Salalah.
