Her Highness the Honourable Lady, wife of His Majesty the Sultan — may God protect and preserve her — paid a visit this morning to the Omani Women’s Association in Salalah, as part of her continued interest in supporting the contributions of Omani women to the nation’s development and community work.
Upon her arrival, Her Highness was received by His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar; Her Excellency Dr. Laila bint Ahmed Al Najjar, Minister of Social Development; Noor bint Hassan Al Ghassani, Chairperson of the Omani Women’s Association in Salalah; and the heads of Omani Women’s Associations across Dhofar Governorate.
During her tour of the association, Her Highness visited the Dhofar Omani Women’s Associations Forum, which featured the Heritage House showcasing examples of traditional crafts and women’s handicrafts that reflect the richness of Dhofar’s cultural heritage. The exhibition also highlighted efforts to preserve and develop this heritage and transform it into products with economic and social value.
Her Highness also visited the exhibition hall, which featured displays representing Omani Women’s Associations across Dhofar. The heads of the associations presented their community and volunteer initiatives, achievements, and women-led projects. Her Highness also learned about the ideas and experiences behind these initiatives, which reflect the spirit of entrepreneurship and social responsibility among the women of the governorate.
At the conclusion of the visit, Her Highness recorded a message commemorating the occasion, expressing her appreciation for the efforts undertaken by the associations. She praised the diversity of their programmes and projects, their commitment to preserving cultural heritage, and their active contribution to supporting women and serving the community.
