Omani Photographers Win Gold Medals at International Youth Photography Competition in Russia

The Sultanate of Oman has achieved remarkable international recognition after young Omani photographers secured gold medals and honorary awards at the Fifth International Youth Photography Competition held in Russia.

This achievement highlights the growing global presence of Omani visual artists and reflects the creative talents of the country’s youth in showcasing Oman’s rich cultural heritage, traditions, and natural beauty through photography.

Omani Talent Shines on the International Stage

The competition witnessed strong participation from photographers representing several countries, with Omani participants standing out for their artistic excellence and unique storytelling style.

Photographer Arwa Mahmood Al Jabri won a prestigious gold medal for a powerful artistic image praised by the international judging panel for its deep humanitarian message. She also received three honorary awards for additional photographs submitted during the competition.

Meanwhile, photographer Yaseen Mohsin Al Hajri earned a gold medal for capturing a striking Omani heritage scene through a creative visual perspective. He also secured a bronze medal and an honorary award for other photographs reflecting authentic Omani culture and traditions.

Recognition for Emerging Omani Creatives

The success extended to several other young Omani photographers participating in the event.

Photographer Amer Mohsin Al Hajri received an honorary award for his artistic portrayal of the beauty and intricate details of the Omani desert landscape.

In addition, photographer Iman Mohsin Al Hajri was honored for a vibrant candid photograph that highlighted the spirit of Omani society and its close connection to heritage and the environment.

Celebrating Omani Heritage Through Photography

The participating Omani works showcased a wide range of themes, including Bedouin life, traditional customs, folk heritage, and Oman’s diverse natural environment.

These photographs reflected the richness of Omani visual culture while demonstrating the ability of young creatives to communicate powerful stories through imagery.

The achievement was supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, represented by the Omani Society for Fine Arts (Photography), which continues to encourage young talents and promote Omani art internationally.
