The National Museum Launches “My Journey Under the Sultans of Wisdom” by the Late Mohammed Mohiuddin bin Abdulaziz
The National Museum organised a ceremony on Monday, December 9, 2024, to launch the English version of the book “My Journey Under the Sultans of Wisdom” by the late Mohammed Mohiuddin bin Abdulaziz. The event was under the patronage of His Excellency Sayyid Saud bin Hilal bin Hamad al-Busaidi, Governor of Muscat, and attended by cultural enthusiasts.
Dr. Tariq Mohiuddin Mohammed Ghulam, the son of the late author, shared insights about the book’s inception, noting that it was inspired by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq in 2016 as a means to document a pivotal period in Oman’s history. The late author dedicated years to research and writing, with guidance from His Majesty.
The book is a memoir spanning the 1950s to the 1990s, offering a historical journey through Oman’s transformations under three Sultans. It captures life in old Muscat, major historical events, and the author’s diplomatic contributions during his tenure at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Mohammed Mohiuddin bin Abdulaziz’s career spanned 35 years, during which he worked closely with Sultan Said bin Taimur, Sultan Qaboos bin Said, and Sultan Haitham bin Tariq. His contributions to diplomacy, international humanitarian law, and maritime law have left a lasting legacy.
The book serves as a bridge for future generations, highlighting the resilience and wisdom of Omani leadership. Originally published in English in 2020, it is now being translated into Arabic to further enrich the Omani cultural library.
