A Strategic Turning Point: Theyazin bin Haitham’s Visit Deepens Oman–Kazakhstan Economic Alliance
Astana — His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, conducted an official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and expanding economic and investment cooperation between the two friendly countries.
Upon arrival at Astana International Airport, His Highness was received by the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, marking the beginning of a series of high-level engagements in the Kazakh capital.
During the visit, His Highness conveyed the greetings of His Majesty the Sultan—may God preserve and protect him—to the President of Kazakhstan during an official reception at the Akorda Presidential Palace.
His Highness and the Kazakh President held formal talks focusing on enhancing economic and investment cooperation across various sectors, exploring opportunities that serve mutual interests and support sustainable growth.
In recognition of his efforts, the President of Kazakhstan awarded His Highness the Order of Friendship, reflecting appreciation for his role in advancing bilateral cooperation.
His Highness also met with the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan to review existing cooperation and discuss ways to expand it in line with both nations’ development visions, particularly in energy, mining, technology, tourism, education, and logistics.
On the sidelines of the visit, Oman and Kazakhstan signed a preliminary agreement to establish a strategic partnership, paving the way for a joint investment fund to develop promising opportunities in both countries.
As part of his program, His Highness visited the Expo area in Astana, where he reviewed key economic and technological projects, including the Astana International Financial Centre and the International Artificial Intelligence Center.
His Highness also toured the Grand Mosque in Astana, learning about its Islamic-inspired architecture and its role as a major religious and educational center in Central Asia.
The visit concluded with an official farewell at Astana International Airport by the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, marking the close of a significant visit that underscored the growing partnership between Oman and Kazakhstan.
