Wheat Harvest Begins in Al Mudhaibi, Strengthening Oman’s Agricultural Sustainability

Al Mudhaibi, Oman — The wheat harvest season for 2025/2026 has officially started in Al Mudhaibi, North Al Sharqiyah, marking an important step toward enhancing food security and agricultural sustainability in the Sultanate of Oman.

Boosting Food Security

Local farmers have begun harvesting wheat crops across more than 8 feddans of cultivated land, with support from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources.

This initiative aligns with Oman’s broader strategic goals to:

  • Increase self-sufficiency
  • Strengthen local food supply chains

  • Wadi Qurayyat 226
  • Wadi Qurayyat 110

These varieties are known for their strong adaptability to local environmental conditions.
