Unleashing the Spirit of Omani Youth: The Dhofar Glory Trip!
A Journey of Growth
Omanspire recently caught up with the dynamic team behind the legendary Dhofar Glory Trip, a journey that began back in 2009 with just 11 adventurous cars. Fast forward to today, and this epic road trip has evolved into a vibrant gathering of youth, showcasing the incredible potential of Oman’s young generation. What started as a family affair quickly transformed into a thrilling escapade with friends, growing to 18 cars in its second year and hitting a high of 30 cars in the ninth edition!
The Adventure Begins
This year, the Dhofar Glory Trip kicked off on July 30, bringing together around 60 enthusiastic participants from all walks of life. Starting from the Oman Automobile Association in Muscat, the convoy rolled through Duqm, exploring the region’s economic prospects before making its way to the stunning landscapes of Shuwaimiyah and finally, Salalah.
Exploring Dhofar’s Hidden Gems
Upon reaching Salalah, the adventure began with a fun-filled day of bonding and relaxation, followed by a lively luncheon. The youth then set out to explore Dhofar’s breathtaking tourist gems—many of which require four-wheel drives to access. This year’s trip wasn’t just about adventure; it was also about giving back. Participants engaged in impactful volunteer initiatives, from cleaning up beautiful plains and mountains to organizing beach clean-ups, proving that Omani youth are ready to make a difference in their communities.
A Helping Hand
To further support the adventurous spirit, a hotline was launched to assist anyone facing challenges in Dhofar, whether it’s getting stuck in mud or needing a helping hand.
A Celebration of Unity
From July 30 to August 9, Omani youth embraced this unique experience, and after the ninth edition, friends from Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, and Egypt joined in the fun, celebrating the spirit of camaraderie and adventure that defines the Dhofar Glory Trip.
