Oman Joins Global Effort for Two-State Solution

The Sultanate of Oman recently participated in the first meeting of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution. This alliance, initiated by Saudi Arabia and backed by Arab, Islamic, and European partners, seeks to establish a Palestinian state and achieve a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Representing Oman was Ambassador Sheikh Faisal bin Omar Al Marhoon, who joined other senior officials in New York to discuss the urgent need for a structured pathway to peace. The alliance’s aim is to leverage international support for the establishment of a Palestinian state, an essential part of the peace process. This inaugural meeting follows recent escalations in Gaza and the West Bank, highlighting the importance of a unified international response to address humanitarian concerns and security in the region.

A United Effort for Peace

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan emphasized the alliance’s goals, stating, “Implementing the two-state solution is the best way to break the cycle of conflict and suffering.” He also underscored that achieving peace in the region requires global solidarity and immediate actions to counter human rights violations.
