Oman Participates in the 12th Islamic Conference of Tourism

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism of Oman, represented by the
Planning Advisor and the accompanying delegation, is participating in the
12th session of the Islamic Conference of Tourism Ministers, held in the
city of Khiva, Republic of Uzbekistan, from May 31 to June 2, 2024. The
conference will discuss the latest developments in Islamic tourism and
review a roadmap for the development of tourism among the member states of
the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Objectives of the Conference:

  • Development of Islamic Tourism: The conference
    will discuss how to enhance Islamic tourism and attract more tourists to
    the member states.
  • Roadmap: Present plans and strategies for
    developing tourism among member states, including cooperation in areas such
    as marketing, infrastructure, and tourism services.
  • Exchange of Experiences: The conference
    provides an opportunity to exchange experiences among member states in the
    field of tourism and propose new ideas to boost this sector.

Activities and Discussions:

  • Workshops and Discussion Sessions: These
    include sessions and workshops on various topics related to Islamic
    tourism, such as innovation in the sector and how to attract Muslim
    tourists.
  • Signing Agreements: Several cooperation
    agreements between the participating countries are expected to be signed to
    enhance tourism relations.
  • Tourism Exhibition: The conference may include
    a tourism exhibition where member states can showcase their tourist
    destinations and the facilities offered to tourists.

Importance of Oman’s Participation:

  • Strengthening Relations: Strengthening
    bilateral relations between Oman and other member states of the OIC.
