Oman Joins Global Community in Celebrating Earth Day 2025

Date: April 22, 2025

The Sultanate of Oman participated in the 55th anniversary of Earth Day on April 22, 2025, under the global theme “Our Power, Our Planet.” This theme stresses the urgent need for unified efforts to shift towards renewable energy and implement sustainable practices to combat climate change and environmental degradation.

Although specific Earth Day events in Oman have not been publicly detailed, the nation’s consistent engagement in environmental campaigns, including Earth Hour 2025, highlights its growing commitment to sustainability. During Earth Hour, the Environment Authority of Oman called on the public to switch off non-essential lights and devices for one hour—from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.—to raise awareness about energy conservation and the global climate crisis.

Oman’s participation in Earth Day 2025 reflects a broader national strategy focused on environmental stewardship, green development, and collaborative global action. Through initiatives like these, Oman continues to support global efforts to build a more sustainable and resilient planet for future generations.
