Muscat Stock Exchange Partners with SME Academy to Empower Omani Businesses

The Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) and the Omani Academy for Small and Medium Enterprises, affiliated with the SME Development Fund “Inma,” have signed a cooperation memorandum aimed at strengthening investment awareness, financial education, and support for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Oman.

The agreement reflects Oman’s ongoing efforts to develop entrepreneurship, enhance private sector growth, and provide SMEs with the knowledge and tools needed to access new financing and investment opportunities.

Enhancing Investment Awareness and Financial Knowledge

Under the new partnership, the two organizations will collaborate on developing training programs, workshops, and awareness initiatives focused on:

  • Investment fundamentals and financial markets
  • Financial planning and business growth strategies
  • Understanding capital market opportunities
  • Enhancing SMEs’ readiness for future expansion

Bader bin Hamoud Al Hinai, Chief Operating Officer of the Muscat Stock Exchange, highlighted that the memorandum supports the exchange’s efforts to expand investment culture and increase awareness among entrepreneurs and SMEs.

He noted that improving understanding of market mechanisms and available financial opportunities can help businesses enhance their sustainability and growth potential.

Meanwhile, C.K. Bharathi, CEO of the Omani Academy for Small and Medium Enterprises, described the agreement as an important step toward integrating entrepreneurship support with capital market expertise.

He emphasized that the partnership will contribute to developing educational programs that improve financial literacy and investment readiness among SME owners.
