Marhaba Dhofar: Strengthening Oman-Saudi Tourism Collaboration Through Heritage and Adventure
The “Marhaba Dhofar” event is set to kick off tomorrow, spearheaded by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in Oman. With a diverse range of participants from both Oman and Saudi Arabia, the event aims to foster deeper tourism ties between the two nations. Over the coming days, 40 Saudi tourism companies and 13 media representatives from top-tier Saudi outlets will join forces with Omani counterparts to explore the rich offerings of Dhofar Governorate.
The first order of business involves field tours showcasing Dhofar’s key attractions. From Salalah’s picturesque beaches to the verdant mountains and significant heritage sites, the event aims to highlight the cultural and historical wealth of the region.
“Marhaba Dhofar” seeks to not only enhance collaboration between Oman and Saudi Arabia but also to shine a spotlight on Dhofar’s unique tourism assets, such as the celebrated Khareef season and its appeal for winter tourism.
As part of a broader initiative by Oman’s Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, this event is designed to strengthen relationships with regional tourism markets, bringing attention to the distinct experiences and opportunities Oman offers.
In addition to tours, the event will feature panels and bilateral meetings between Omani and Saudi tourism companies. These sessions will focus on knowledge exchange and identifying potential partnerships to further develop the tourism industry in both countries.
Beyond professional networking, participants will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the experiences that make Oman a premier destination for adventure tourism, leisure, and the growing MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) sector.
