Omani Designer Showcases Dhofari Heritage at Global Children’s Fashion Week in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, January 19, 2026

Omani fashion continues to gain global recognition as designer Asfar bint Hamran Khamis,
founder of Lychee Dhofar Fashion House, participated in the
Global Children’s Fashion Week in Abu Dhabi, bringing Omani heritage to the international fashion spotlight.

Her participation highlights the growing presence of Omani designers on global platforms and reinforces the role of
fashion as a powerful medium for cultural expression. International events such as this provide valuable opportunities
to showcase heritage, creativity, and shared human values through innovative design.

During the event, Khamis launched her latest “Thuraya Collection”, a creative fusion of traditional Omani
elements and modern fashion trends. The collection draws inspiration from Dhofari heritage, presenting updated
traditional designs that reflect the identity of Omani women and children while meeting international fashion standards.

The collection is distinguished by its use of traditional velvet fabric, long associated with Dhofari women’s attire,
adding elegance and depth to the designs. Heritage-inspired patterns and a carefully selected color palette symbolize
innocence, creativity, and harmony, aligning with the spirit of children’s fashion.

By blending authenticity with contemporary aesthetics, the Thuraya collection delivers a balanced artistic vision
that respects cultural roots while appealing to global audiences. The participation of Lychee Dhofar Fashion House in
this prestigious event marks another significant step forward for Omani fashion on the world stage.
