Referring to the 20th session of the joint economic committee between the two countries that will be held soon in Tehran, he hoped that this event would pave the way for expanding cooperation between the two countries.
Hossein Amir Abdollahian, the Iranian Foreign Minister, appreciated the efforts of the Sultanate of Oman in facilitating regional and international dialogues, especially the recent Iranian-Saudi talks that led to an agreement between the two countries.
In remarks reported today by Iranian media, the Iranian Foreign Minister welcomed the constructive efforts made by Oman about Yemen, expressing his hope that these efforts would lead to the consolidation of peace in the region.
Amir Abdollahian said: Iran welcomes the restoration of relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia within the framework of the neighborhood policy and respects the principle of good neighborliness, and believes that this is beneficial to the region.
He pointed out that the growth of economic relations and mutual investments in the region brings countries closer together, stressing that this is the basis for achieving peace and stability in the region, describing Iran’s unique geopolitical position as the best opportunity for transit and transportation of goods across the region.
