Indeed, many believed that Oman was part of the land of Ophir, that land that was a treasure of gold for the Prophet Solomon, and the author of the Book of Tawaf also said Regarding Omani gold and the country’s uniqueness in it in those times: “There are two types of gold: a type as a currency imported from Rome to India, and a type as a raw metal imported from Oman only.” He said about Omani pearls: “Pearls are one of Oman Port’s exports to the Arab countries, and to Brigaza in the Gulf of Cambay in India.” It is worth noting that archaeologists have unanimously agreed that the Omanis were the first people in the world to use pearls in the tombs of their dead and in their religious rituals.
Evidence of this is the important archaeological discovery in Muscat in the Ras Al Hamra area near Mina Al Fahal. Several tombs were discovered dating back to the fourth millennium. BC, and they found a perforated pearl, considered one of the oldest pearls in the world, in the grave of a dead person. These ancient civilizations were not satisfied with bringing these goods from Oman, but there are many goods that they brought from Oman and they documented all of this in their history, writings, and archaeological inscriptions.
