Royal Reception: Sultan Haitham’s State Visit to Belgium

A formal state reception ceremony was held for His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik – may Allah protect him – at the Royal Palace in Brussels, marking his State Visit to the Kingdom of Belgium.

As His Majesty’s motorcade proceeded toward the Royal Palace Square, it was escorted by a procession of motorcycles. Just before reaching the main square of the Royal Palace, the motorcade was accompanied by a group of horse-mounted guards, with members of the Belgian Royal Cavalry lined up on both sides of the route.

Upon His Majesty’s arrival at the Royal Palace, His Majesty King Philippe of the Belgians and Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of the Belgians were at the forefront of the welcoming delegation to greet His Majesty the Sultan, wishing him and his accompanying delegation a pleasant stay. Following this, His Majesty the Sultan, accompanied by the King, inspected the Honor Guard.

Afterward, King Philippe escorted His Majesty to the ceremonial platform, where the national anthem of Oman and the royal anthem of Belgium were played. The two leaders then proceeded into the palace, pausing for a commemorative photograph at the reception courtyard of the Royal Palace.

The leaders then moved to the main hall, where His Majesty Sultan Haitham – may Allah protect him – greeted members of the Belgian side. Subsequently, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde greeted the official Omani delegation. After the greetings concluded, His Majesty – may Allah preserve him – graciously recorded his remarks and signed the Guest Book.
