At just 23 years old, Rasheed Mohammed Al Zuhaibi has already carved out a name for himself as one of Oman’s most dominant basketball players. Standing tall at 205 cm, his presence on the court is impossible to ignore—but it’s his consistency, discipline, and ambition that truly set him apart.
A Journey That Began with Passion
Rasheed’s basketball story began in 2017, when he joined the youth ranks at Seeb Club. Like many young athletes, he started with a dream and a determination to improve. What followed was a rapid rise through the ranks, fueled by relentless effort and a clear vision of success.
“Since the beginning, I’ve always believed in working hard and aiming higher,” Rasheed reflects. “Every season has been a step forward.”
Dominating the Paint
Specializing as a center, Rasheed has become synonymous with excellence in his position. His dominance is reflected in an extraordinary achievement: being named Best Center in the Omani Basketball League for seven consecutive seasons, from 2018 to 2025. Such consistency is rare, even among elite athletes, and highlights both his skill and commitment.
His impact extends beyond domestic competition. In 2018, he earned the title of Best Center at the Gulf Championship (U18) in the United Arab Emirates—an early sign of his potential on the regional stage.
Representing Club and Country
Rasheed’s talent has earned him a place in both club and international competitions. As a first-team player for the Omani National Basketball Team, he has represented his country in multiple Gulf Championships, including tournaments in the UAE (2019), Bahrain (2021), and Kuwait (2023).
At the club level, he has competed in prestigious tournaments with Seeb Club and Al Bashair Club. His appearances in the Arab Championships and FIBA Asia Qualifiers have exposed him to higher levels of competition, helping him sharpen his skills against some of the region’s best players.
“These experiences are important,” he says. “They push me to improve and understand what it takes to compete at the highest level.”
Eyes on the International Stage
Despite his already impressive résumé, Rasheed’s ambitions reach far beyond local and regional success. His ultimate goal is to play professional basketball abroad, competing against top-tier international talent.
“I want to keep developing and take the next step in my career,” he explains. “Playing outside Oman and representing my country at a higher level is my biggest dream.”
