The scope of work encompasses the turnkey drilling of 274 wells spanning primary oil production and pressure-maintenance water injection throughout the Marmul cluster and the Greater Saqr area, where fields operate under a unified development model.
The agreement marks a deliberate structural evolution in Oman’s upstream commercial architecture. By departing from historical day-rate contracting models and consolidating drilling operations under a performance-governed integrated framework, PDO projects a direct cost reduction of approximately twenty percent. The model enforces operational accountability across the full well-delivery lifecycle, enabling granular rig scheduling, reducing non-productive time, and lowering the lifting cost per barrel of oil equivalent.
