  • Social, economic, and intellectual aspects of regional history

Dhofar: A Destination of Historical and Cultural Significance

The choice of Dhofar as the host location carries special importance due to the governorate’s deep historical roots and its role as a centre of cultural exchange throughout history.

The forum also coincides with the silver jubilee of the GCC History and Archaeology Society’s scientific gatherings, marking 25 successful editions since its establishment.

Dhofar’s unique heritage, ancient sites, and natural landscapes provide participants with an opportunity to experience Oman’s diverse historical and tourism attractions.

Exhibitions Highlight Oman’s Heritage

Alongside academic sessions, the forum will feature exhibitions displaying archaeological artefacts discovered in Oman, heritage publications, historical timelines, and tourism information.

These activities aim to promote awareness of Oman’s archaeological wealth and highlight the shared cultural identity of GCC nations.

Promoting Heritage Knowledge and Regional Collaboration

The forum reflects the importance of historical and archaeological studies in documenting the region’s past and strengthening cultural connections between GCC societies.

By hosting this event, Oman continues to position itself as a hub for heritage preservation, historical research, and cultural dialogue.

Conclusion

The 25th Scientific Forum of the GCC History and Archaeology Society represents an important platform for researchers and heritage specialists to exchange knowledge and celebrate the rich history of the Arabian Gulf.
