COMEX 2025 to Spotlight Oman as Gateway to Digital Investment

The 34th edition of COMEX — the Sultanate’s long-running ICT exhibition — opens on Monday at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, bringing together government bodies, private firms and international participants for a four-day showcase of emerging technologies and investment opportunities.

Organized by Al Dar Al Arabiya for Data Analysis with the support of the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology, this year’s event is held under the theme “Your Gateway to Digital Investment”. Organisers say the programme reflects Oman’s digital ambitions under Oman Vision 2040, with a focus on technologies ranging from artificial intelligence and cybersecurity to the space sector and broader digital transformation.

Platform for investment and innovation

Dr. Seema bint Saadi Al Kaabiya, Director General for Sector Stimulation and Future Skills at the Ministry, described COMEX as a growing platform for showcasing advanced technologies and promoting digital investment. Officials said the exhibition plays a central role in introducing Omani startups to regional and international markets.

A designated Digital Investment Corner will highlight opportunities intended to position Oman as a regional destination for technology-driven capital. The exhibition calendar also includes the signing of agreements, the launch of new initiatives and a programme of specialist panels and forums.

Forums and focus areas

The event’s agenda features several sector-specific forums, including the AI & Quantum Computing Forum, the E-commerce Forum, and the FinTech & Digital Banking Forum, alongside a Cybersecurity Innovation Forum. Sessions are scheduled on smart cities, 5G deployment and digital sustainability, among other topics.

Startups and the Esh pavilion

One of the exhibition’s main attractions is the Startup Zone, which will host more than 140 technology startups, 30 of which are supported and selected by the Ministry. The zone is set to feature product launches, workshops, networking sessions and partnership discussions.

The Esh platform pavilion will operate alongside the Startup Zone, aiming to connect Omani entrepreneurs with investors and sector experts as part of broader efforts to bolster the country’s digital entrepreneurship ecosystem.

COMEX 2025 runs for four days at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre and is expected to attract regional and international interest in Oman’s growing digital economy.
