Together We Advance Forum 2025: Shaping Sustainable Urban Development in Oman

The Together We Advance Forum 2025 is poised to be a transformative event in the realm of sustainable urban development and housing in Oman. With a focus on collaboration and innovation, the forum aims to tackle pressing challenges and explore effective solutions that enhance the quality of life for Omani families.

Key Highlights of the Forum

Commitment to Housing and Essential Services

Dr. Khalfan Al-Shuaili, the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that housing in Sultan Haitham City will only be established once all necessary infrastructure and services are fully operational. This strategic approach aims to create a livable, sustainable environment for residents, reflecting a broader vision for urban planning in Oman.

Support for Omani Families

The forum anticipates that by mid-2027, at least 500 Omani families will find homes in Sultan Haitham City. This projection underscores the government’s dedication to providing adequate housing solutions and addressing the needs of the growing population.

Integrated Rehabilitation Complex

A significant initiative discussed at the forum is the Integrated Rehabilitation Complex, approved by the Council of Ministers. This project will cater to individuals with various disabilities, offering over five types of support services at an investment of approximately 7 million Omani Rials. Such initiatives highlight a commitment to inclusivity and the well-being of all community members.

Capacity Building in Urban Planning

The launch of a national program focused on building capacities in urban planning is another highlight of the forum. This initiative has already empowered around 150 young Omanis, equipping them with essential skills for contributing to the future of urban development in the country. Investing in human capital is crucial for achieving sustainable growth.

Local Involvement in Projects

A noteworthy aspect of the projects in Sultan Haitham City is that the majority of those involved are Omanis. This local participation fosters community engagement and ensures that the projects reflect the cultural and social values of the region, contributing to a sense of ownership and pride among residents.

Agricultural Development Initiatives

The forum also addressed the management of agricultural land holdings in Najd, where over 1,000 holdings exist. The government plans to organize and effectively utilize these resources, enhancing agricultural productivity and sustainability, which is vital for food security and rural development.

Conclusion: A Vision for a Sustainable Future

The Together We Advance Forum 2025 represents a significant milestone in Oman’s journey toward sustainable urban development and community welfare. By prioritizing infrastructure, inclusivity, capacity building, and local involvement, the forum sets a comprehensive framework for a brighter, more sustainable future for all Omani families.

As Oman continues to evolve, the strategies and initiatives discussed at this forum will play a crucial role in shaping the nation’s urban landscapes and enhancing the quality of life for its citizens.
