Muscat, Oman – February 22, 2025 – The Experience Oman Muscat Marathon 2025 has come to a spectacular close, marking yet another successful edition of Oman’s premier running event. Over two action-packed days, thousands of runners—from elite athletes to first-time participants—took to the streets of Muscat, cheered on by an enthusiastic crowd and set against the city’s stunning coastal backdrop.

A Celebration of Endurance and Community

Held on February 21–22, this year’s marathon featured a range of race categories to cater to all fitness levels:

  • Full Marathon (42.2 km)
  • Half Marathon (21.1 km)
  • 10K Race
  • 5K Fun Run
  • Kids’ Run

With a scenic, fast, and well-organized route, the event drew runners from across the globe, many of whom aimed to set personal bests or qualify for other major races.

Elite Runners Shine on the Streets of Muscat

The competition was fierce, with top international and regional athletes delivering outstanding performances.

Men’s Marathon

Ethiopian runner Geza Senebeta dominated the men’s marathon, breaking the tape in 2:17:37. Close behind was his compatriot Temam Abdela, clocking 2:18:08, while Kenya’s Dominic Mibei secured third place with 2:22:48.

Women’s Marathon

In the women’s race, Kenya’s Beatrice Chebet took the top spot with an impressive 2:32:51, followed by Ethiopia’s Meseret Tola in 2:34:10. Rounding out the podium was Morocco’s Fatima Zahra, finishing in 2:36:45.

Half Marathon & Other Highlights

The half marathon saw Norway’s Sondre Nordstad Moen clock 1:03:41, leading the pack with an impressive performance. Meanwhile, the 10K and 5K races provided a platform for both competitive and recreational runners to test their endurance, with strong local participation.

A Route That Showcases Oman’s Beauty

The AIMS-certified course started near the picturesque Al Mouj Muscat, winding through the city’s coastal roads and offering runners breathtaking views of the Arabian Sea. With Oman’s mild winter weather, the conditions were perfect for setting records and achieving personal bests.
