Launch of the 3rd GCC Beach Games – Muscat 2025

Today, Saturday, April 5, 2025, marks the kickoff of the third edition of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Beach Games, hosted in Muscat, Oman. All six GCC countries are participating: Oman, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, and Bahrain.

Tournament Details

The competitions run from April 5 to 11, 2025, featuring eight exciting beach sports:

  • Beach Soccer
  • Beach Volleyball
  • Beach Handball
  • Open Water Swimming
  • Sailing
  • Tent Pegging
  • Beach Athletics
  • Paragliding

Venues

Competitions are held at multiple venues across Muscat Governorate, including:

  • Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex Sand Courts (Bausher)
  • Muscat Beaches
  • Al Rahba Farm
  • Al Hail Beach

Qatar’s Participation

Qatar is participating with a delegation of 18 athletes, competing in five different sports throughout the games.

Goals of the GCC Beach Games

This regional tournament aims to:

  • Enhance sports cooperation among GCC nations
  • Promote and develop beach sports in the region
  • Showcase Oman’s tourism and sports infrastructure

The GCC Beach Games provide an exceptional platform for Gulf athletes to demonstrate their skills, strengthen unity, and elevate the standard of beach sports across the region.
