Terminal 11 Partners with Cambridge to Boost Oman–UK Innovation and Investment
Oman’s Terminal 11 has signed a three-year strategic cooperation agreement with Innovate Cambridge and Cambridge Innovation Capital (CIC) to strengthen collaboration in innovation, technology investment and entrepreneurship between Oman and the United Kingdom.
Signed alongside His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s state visit to the UK, the agreement aims to connect Omani startups with investors, researchers, technology companies and business experts in Cambridge, while helping British companies explore opportunities in Oman and the wider Gulf region.
Opening Doors for Omani Startups
The agreement includes an initial programme offering up to five Omani startups the opportunity to visit Cambridge and access its investment, research and technology networks. Participating businesses will have opportunities to connect with venture capital funds, entrepreneurs and specialist experts, as well as benefit from programmes at The Glasshouse, Cambridge’s innovation hub.
The partnership will also facilitate access to Cambridge Innovation Capital’s Entrepreneurs in Residence programme, helping startups explore product development, market validation, commercial partnerships and expansion into UK and European markets.
Expanding Innovation Between Oman and the UK
As part of the collaboration, Terminal 11 will support British startups and technology companies seeking opportunities in Oman and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. This will include connecting them with government entities, major businesses, investors and industrial partners.
The partnership will also explore opportunities for joint events, investment meetings and research and development initiatives aligned with Oman Vision 2040.
A joint steering committee will oversee the implementation of the agreement and monitor performance indicators throughout the three-year partnership.
Supporting Oman’s Innovation-Driven Economy
Terminal 11 is an innovation platform backed by the Oman Investment Authority’s Oman Future Fund in partnership with the private sector.
Through this collaboration, Terminal 11 aims to help Omani startups access international expertise, attract investment and scale their operations globally. The initiative is expected to strengthen economic ties between Oman and the UK while supporting Oman’s economic diversification efforts and the development of a competitive, innovation-driven economy.
