Omani Women’s Day: Taghreed Alyahmadi on Financial Literacy and Women’s Empowerment

Financial knowledge can open doors to greater independence, confidence, and opportunity. For Taghreed Alyahmadi, a CFI-certified Financial Planning and Wealth Management Professional, accounting professional, and financial coach, empowering women begins with understanding money and making informed financial decisions.

As Oman celebrates Omani Women’s Day, Taghreed’s work highlights the importance of financial literacy in helping women build a more secure future.

Professional Expertise with a Purpose

Taghreed holds the Financial Planning and Wealth Management Professional (FPWMP®) certification from the Corporate Finance Institute (CFI), complementing her background in accounting. Her professional journey into financial coaching grew from recognising a gap in financial literacy and a need to make financial knowledge more accessible.

Through financial consultations, workshops, and media appearances, she encourages women to develop healthier relationships with money. For Taghreed, financial well-being goes beyond numbers and calculations; it is shaped by everyday decisions, spending habits, and long-term goals.

Building Financial Confidence

Taghreed believes one of the challenges women face is prioritising family responsibilities while postponing their own financial goals. She encourages women to understand their income, expenses, savings, debts, and assets, and to participate actively in decisions that affect their financial future.

For her, financial independence means having the freedom to make choices. It does not require managing everything alone, but rather having the knowledge and confidence to understand one’s financial position.

She recommends five essential habits: tracking expenses, saving consistently, managing debt wisely, setting clear financial goals, and building an emergency fund. She also stresses the importance of distinguishing between needs and wants instead of allowing social expectations to shape spending decisions.

A Message for Omani Women

Taghreed encourages young Omani women to start building healthy financial habits early, regardless of their current income. She believes that financial confidence comes through continuous learning and consistent action, not simply through the amount of money earned.

This Omani Women’s Day, her message is clear: financial literacy is a powerful tool for empowering women, strengthening independence, and creating a more secure future.
