Oman’s Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, in coordination with the Environment Authority, is leading a response operation following the grounding of the vessel CAROLINE BEZENGI near the Al Hallaniyat Islands in Dhofar Governorate.
The operation is being carried out in cooperation with relevant government authorities to minimize potential environmental impact while ensuring the safety of maritime navigation in the area.
Specialized technical teams are continuing to monitor the incident and implement emergency response measures in line with Oman’s approved contingency plans. Authorities are utilizing satellite imagery, field inspections, and advanced technical models to assess the vessel’s condition and evaluate any possible effects on the surrounding marine environment.
Officials confirmed that all response efforts are aligned with internationally recognized environmental and maritime standards, as well as applicable international laws and conventions. Continuous technical assessments are guiding decision-making to ensure the most effective environmental protection measures are implemented.
The Ministry and the Environment Authority reaffirmed that updates will be released exclusively through official communication channels. The public has been urged to avoid sharing unverified information and to rely on trusted official sources for accurate updates.
