More Flights, Greater Capacity: Preparing for Dhofar Khareef 2026

The Civil Aviation Authority has announced its readiness to support the expected surge in passenger traffic during Dhofar Khareef 2026, one of Oman’s most anticipated tourism seasons. The initiative focuses on enhancing air connectivity, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring a seamless travel experience for visitors heading to Salalah and the wider Dhofar region.

According to Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yafei, Director General of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation in Dhofar Governorate, preparations are actively underway to strengthen aviation capacity and ensure smooth operations throughout the Khareef season.

Expanded Flight Operations

  • Oman Air will operate 13 daily flights, increasing seat capacity from 90,000 to 330,000 passengers.
  • Additional services from Flydubai in July will further enhance connectivity.
  • Flights from Muscat, Sohar, and Kuwait will improve accessibility.
  • SalamAir will operate 10 daily flights with a capacity exceeding 190,000 seats.
  • New destinations include Muscat, North Al Batinah, Dammam, and Baghdad.

International Connectivity

At Salalah Airport, 68 international flights are scheduled through foreign carriers, including services from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and India.
