Celebrating Palestinian Culture: A Heartfelt Event at the National Museum in Muscat

In a beautiful demonstration of cultural solidarity and support, the National Museum in Muscat Governorate recently hosted an inspiring event titled “Palestinian Troiyda.” This special occasion brought together Omani artists and musicians, reflecting the deep bonds and mutual respect between the Omani and Palestinian peoples.

A Message of Solidarity and Support

The event featured a heartfelt speech by Ms. Wafaa bint Hilal Al-Busaidiyah, a clinical psychology specialist, who emphasized the cultural and humanitarian significance of the gathering. She highlighted that the event was a powerful gesture of solidarity, aimed at showcasing Palestinian heritage and culture, and conveying messages of peace and justice. It was a poignant reminder of the Palestinian people’s enduring struggle for freedom and independence.

Cultural and Artistic Highlights

The event was rich with cultural and artistic performances. Among the highlights was a moving poem titled “Message to a Child in Gaza,” written by Ms. Wafaa Al-Busaidiyah and beautifully recited by student Waad bint Mohammed Al-Haddabiya. The audience was also treated to a stirring rendition of the anthem “Mawtini” by students from Muscat Governorate schools. Poet Yousef bin Abdul Qader Al-Kamali recited a powerful poem titled “Adhan from Al-Aqsa,” and a captivating musical piece titled “Melody from Oman” was performed. The event also included a visual presentation titled “Palestine Concerns Us,” which deeply resonated with the attendees.

Art for a Cause

Adding to the significance of the event was an art exhibition featuring 22 paintings, all part of an art auction. The auction, which saw the participation of several talented Omani artists and designers, was organized to raise funds for the people of Gaza. The proceeds from the auction are being managed by the Omani Charitable Organization, ensuring that the support reaches those in need. Additionally, the event included a special Palestine Corner, designed to educate attendees about Palestinian history, culture, and symbols.

Distinguished Attendees

The event, organized in collaboration with Ms. Wafaa bint Hilal Al-Busaidiyah, was graced by the presence of several esteemed guests. His Excellency Dr. Tayseer Farhat, the Ambassador of the State of Palestine accredited to the Sultanate of Oman, attended alongside His Excellency Jamal bin Hassan Al-Moosawi, Secretary-General of the National Museum. The gathering also saw the participation of several dignitaries and notable figures, all coming together to celebrate and support Palestinian culture.

The “Palestinian Troiyda” event at the National Museum was not just a celebration of art and culture; it was a powerful statement of solidarity and a testament to the enduring friendship between the Omani and Palestinian peoples. Through art, music, and heartfelt messages, the event succeeded in conveying a profound sense of unity and support, reminding us all of the importance of cultural solidarity in the face of adversity.
