As per a Ministerial Resolution, 23/2020 issued by Mohammed bin Salem bin said al Tobi, former Minister of Environment and Climate Affairs, the use of single-use plastic shopping bags will be banned from January 1, 2021. The ban decision was issued on March 15, 2020.
