The Importance of Preserving Heritage


Al Zahra Hussain born in December 1999, is an Omani Artist who took into the diversity of Oman's culture and heritage and reflected it in her Art. Al Zahra studied Art history in Muscat, participated anatomy course with Mr. Anwar Sonya, and continued with the creation of Imagination, Methods of Artistic Anatomy &Methods of Abstraction by; Dr. Nasser Palangi.

"Our heritage is full of Art, that you see in our daily life objects from clothing, jewelry, buildings, ships. Etc. I grew up surrounded by lots of beauty of artistic patterns, colors, and forms that are going with us generation after the other."

As an artist Al Zahra found herself attached to the Omani culture-loving and appreciating it. It is one of the main inspirations for her artworks which can be seen as patterns in her artworks representing the Omani identity and history.

In her artworks, she attempts to showcase the deep connection between Omani people and abstract patterns expressing Oman's different personalities. She also believes in the importance of preserving Omani heritage, including all the beautiful and meaningful designs, and "I look forward to being able to present our identity and history in my artworks from Oman to the whole world."
