In her efforts to encourage more women into sports, Rumaitha became the youngest Omani woman to step foot on the South Pole and has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and Damavand. She continues to be a trailblazer setting an example for Arab women and their capability of travelling solo; she has swum in the five oceans and seven seas of the world while visiting 64 countries all on her own.
Professionally, Rumaitha is a Royal Netherlands Society of Arts & Sciences fellow and worked at the Netherlands Institute of Ecology; formally receiving her education at Utrecht University in the Netherlands.
