The Museum of the Frankincense Land provides its visitors a deep perspective of Oman’s long historical legacy and maritime heritage, as well as samples of archaeological evidence from the ages to the present time. The museum has two halls, the History Hall, which is a window to many cultural and archaeological evidence. It contains 6 sections; Geography of Oman, Oman in Ancient Times, the Land of Frankincense, the Islam of people of Oman, Features of Oman History, and the Renaissance of Oman.
The second hall is the Maritime Hall which highlights the most important maritime events in Oman’s history, Oman’s relationship with the sea, the sea’s contribution to the development of trade relations with other countries, and the skill of Omanis in shipbuilding. It includes 7 sections: Maritime Heritage and the Sea, Shipbuilding, Sailing, Sea Trade, Virtual Reality of Sea, and Renaissance.
